Fine old "Barbary Coast" San Francisco made, double edged Bowie/Dirk knife. "M Price / San Francisc_" with silver studded walrus ivory handle and original silver sheath with belt clip.
C. early 1860's to early 1870's. Nice overall, the handle has been chipped and cracked but all is tight and sound. Aged gray blade has signs of sharpening and mild pitting. Overall length is 9-7/8". six of the 84 silver studs are missing. This very rare knife may not be in the best shape but in mint condition it would bring about $50,000 - up. These silver studded examples are favored among collectors. Try finding another one for sale.
