Description:
Outstanding example of a very scarce 2.5 power Maxwell Smith G88 7/8" tube, fine cross hair reticle rifle scope made in Los Angeles during the late 40s.
These were produced for only about a 2 or 3 year period shortly after World War II and are seldom encountered today. The construction is high quality and optics remain clear and bright with no scratches or internal issues.
The mount is in equally fine condition, made by M.L. Stith, which was designed specifically to be used on the Pre War Winchester Model 70, utilizing factory receiver sight holes and factory dovetail milled in barrel. No driling or other alteration of the weapon is required for this mount. ALL hardware is included and in excellent condition.
