Description:
One of only 19,999 produced, this Oliver Winchester commemorative 94 in .38-55 is a stunner! Receiver, lever, fore end cap, and magazine cap are richly plated in gold, with the balance of metal exhibiting a lustrous deep blue finish. Left side of the receiver is engraved with the Winchester factory, and the right side depicts early settlers and Native Americans using their Winchester rifles on the frontier. The 24" barrel has a full octagon contour, with blade front sight and v-notch rear. Stock and fore end retain virtually all of their original rubbed oil finish, with lots of figure and sharp checkering throughout. Blued crescent butt plate is nearly perfect, with just some slight thinning of the blue on the toe. Bore is dusty but will no doubt clean up beautifully. The only small apologies on this gun are that the forward most upper tang screw and rear sight elevator are missing and there is a slight area of compression in the checkering on the left side of the butt stock that is barely noticeable. All in all, a very nice example of a beautiful collectible Winchester in a classic Old West caliber! Comes with original box.
