Payment Types Accepted: money order Description: Here is a Winchester Model 1892 rifle made early on. It has been re-blued over the results of poor storage showing roughness on the action as pictured. Marbles rear sight and original Winchester front sight. The action works fine (I ran shells through it) and the bore has good rifling throughout with very minor fuzziness, see photos. The wood is good except for 2 cracks in the bottom of the fore-end, pictured. 24" round barrel. Some lettering was polished out but most is readable. No amount of elbow grease will turn this rifle into a museum piece but a little work will make it a good shooter or a good original rifle for CAS. The fore-end would probably stand up to another 50 years of shooting but a simple glueing will fix it permanently. I've priced it under other large caliber '92s so you can afford to spend some time making it prettier. For the price of an Italian replica you can have a good shooting American made gun that was actually around in the days of the old west. $50 shipping and insurance to your door unless prohibited by local law.
