1901 COLT .22 Rimfire LIGHTNING Slide Action Rifle
Pump Action Rifle Made in 1901
Here we present an antique Colt Lightning .22 Rimfire Slide Action Rifle, made in 1901, in Hartford, Connecticut. This rifle would have been a nice, light, and fast rifle for the small game hunter or target shooter in the beginning of the 20th Century. It would have gone head to head with the very similar Winchester Model 1890 slide action rifle.
The overall condition is very good. 65% of the original blue finish remains. The markings are clear. The walnut butt stock is in nice shape. The hand guard on the slide was broken long ago and the sharp edges of the break have been smoothed with handling and use. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. The action remains strong.
