Description:
RARE PRE-WAR GERMAN WALTHER MODEL 2 BOLT ACTION OR SEMI-AUTO SINGLE SHOT .22LR RIFLE MISSING STOCK. Serial number on left side of receiver "3552XX". This rifle was the second-most expensive .22 rifle of the 7 different models offered in the years leading up to WWII, surpassed in cost only by the single-shot Olympic Master Rifle. Receiver with all the original blue and "Waffenfabrik-Walther-Zella-Mehlis/Thurl" and perpendicular to that the 'Walther" banner. With absent stock the upper tang screw is missing as a result and the lower frame screw that secures the receiver to the barrel. The barrel has mint rifling with mirror bright bore. Original folding leaf sights and sling swivel. NO extra holes anywhere. Usually these are found tapped for scope mounts but this one is grooved only on the front band where barrel is affixed to frame. Could not tell you if dovetail is original or not. No import marks or German acceptance either besides "KAL.22 LANG FUR BUCHSEN" onleft side of barrel. Some salt and peppering in a few spots but nothing deep. Use for parts or build a stock around it. Rare and probably VERY accurate considering it's legacy and internet chatter.
