Description:
Introduced in 1910, the Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic pistol was a commercial success for the firm.  Offered in .32 ACP or .380 ACP, the Savage Model 1907 remained in production until 1920.  This pistol featured a 3 & 13/16" inch barrel in the .32 ACP model and a 4 & 5/16" inch barrel in the .380 ACP model.  The double-stack magazine held 9 rounds of .380 or 10 rounds of .32 ACP.  The gun came from the factory with a blue finish and metal grips on the early production guns or hard rubber grips on later guns.  The Savage 1907 proved to be a very reliable and accurate pistol, and it's unique "art deco" design made the gun stand out among it's competition.  This particular .380 ACP example is one of the last Model 1907's "variations" made, likely in 1919 or 1920.  It is serial number 142008 and has the later-production matte blue factory finish and a Savage Model 1917-style spur cocking piece rather than the standard rounded one seen on 95% of 1907 production.  This Savage is in beautiful all-original condition.  The factory blue finish rates 96%, showing only some tiny handling marks visible only under very close inspection.  All of the factory stampings are crisp and clear.  The bore is very good in this Savage, showing some light frosting mainly in grooves but very strong rifling throughout.  The original factory Savage "Indian Head" logo checkered hard rubber grips are in excellent condition.  The checkering is still crisp and the Savage logos are in beautiful shape.  Both grip panels are free from any cracks, chips, or repairs.  All of the controls on this Savage are in perfect working order and the action is slick and precise.  This pistol comes with complete with the original 9-round factory magazine in very good all-original condition.  This Savage should still function just as well today as the day it left the factory 100 years ago.  If you have been looking for a late-production Savage Model 1907 .380 ACP variant for your collection it would be nearly impossible to find a better example than this.
