Up for sale is a two-piece Exhibition American Walnut Feathercrotch stock blank.
Four pictures were taken outside--the rest of them were taken inside. Feathercrotch figure and mineral lines are abundant. The dimensions are accurate. This blank would serve well for restocking a side by side shotgun or a custom single shot rifle. The wood was cut in March of 2009, so it is now has been over 10 years old drying. Ray Richter is very careful not to let his blanks leave without sufficient drying time. His knowledge and understanding of wood blanks is very impressive. Certainly, if you have any questions, let me know. However, the description and the pictures pretty well tell the story. There are not many walnut blanks around like this.
I purchased this from Ray Richter a few years ago, and was going to use it on a custom build, but will not need it. Take a look at the pictures--it is a one of a kind blank.
Here are the dimensions of the two pieces.
Forearm: 13 1/2" L, 2 3/8" W, 2 7/16" H.
Butt: 17 5/16" L, 2 1/8" W, 6 1/16" End of Butt H, 3 1/8" Front of Butt H.
If your shipping amount ends up being less than what is indicated, I will simply put the excess in an envelope and send it to you.
