Description:
1939 Colt 1911A1 Navy contract pistol. This is an all original survivor. The slide and frame are numbers matching. The top of the slide and below the frame a marked P. The right front of the trigger gaurd is marked 60. The barrel is correct with P marked on the lug and COLT 45 AUTO on the barrel itself. The bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. The mechanics are spot on. For a Naval issued pistol the finish is in high condition. The high edges are very sharp. The slide shows some light and scattered handling. The frame flats and the bottom of the frame also only show light handling. The front strap of the grip frame shows some typical light thinning. The arched mainspring housing does not have wear like the front strap with all of the finish intact. Overall the finish rates about 95%. The grips have a few flat checkers but most of them are sharp so overall the grips are very nice. These 39 Navys are tough to find like this and it will make an excellent addition to any Military or Pre War 1911 collection.
