Winchester Model 1873 Sporting Rifle .22SHORT factory 24 inch Octagon Barrel. The serial number of this example is 2003XX placing date of manufacture in 1886. Overall condition is very good with approx. 30% of the original untouched factory blue mostly in protected areas, remainder a grey/blue patina. The bore is dark with the rifling present, consistent with small caliber rifles of that period, no cleaning kits for the small caliber firearms in those days.
