This is a beautiful classic Remington Model 700 BDL in .30-06 caliber that was made in 1973. As you can see from the pictures it has been used but certainly has been well cared for. This Remington 700 has a 22" inch barrel with factory iron sights, a deluxe checkered Walnut stock with a black forend tip and pistol grip cap, a factory installed Remington-branded buttplate, factory installed sling swivel studs, and a factory drilled and tapped receiver. The original high polish gloss blue finish still looks excellent overall with only some small handling and wear marks visible under close inspection. The worst of these are located on the top of the receiver near the drilled and tapped holes and out on the barrel just ahead of the forend on the right side. There are close up pictures of these two areas provided in the listing. The black anodized finish on the alloy triggerguard and floorplate is nearly perfect, showing nice even color and no thinning. The bore in this vintage 700 BDL is superb. The bore is mirror-bright with no pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections. The rifling still looks nice and new with sharp lands and grooves. The factory original stock is in excellent condition. The original clear gloss finish is fully intact and clear, and the wood is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The hand-cut checkering is still nice and crisp, and it still looks very clean with no soiling. The black forend cap and pistol grip cap are in great shape, and the original Remington buttplate is in great shape too with no cracks or damage. The length of pull on this Remington is the standard factory length of 13.5" inches to the end of the buttplate. The action on this 700 is still tight but works smoothly by hand and goes into battery perfectly. All of the controls on this rifle work 100% like the day it left the factory and the trigger is quite good, breaking with a light pull and no slop. If you have been looking for new rifle for your collection that is truly an American classic, this vintage 700 BDL would be the perfect choice. Not only is it one of the best production American-made rifles ever made, but it is chambered in the American classic caliber of .30-06 Springfield. This rifle in this caliber is capable of taking any game in North America cleanly, and you could carry this classy and attractive rifle into any hunting camp in the country with pride. This is a really cool vintage Remington 700 BDL that is worthy of any rifle collection.
