Designed in 1970 the Model 70 built by Crvena Zastava in Yugoslavia is a 7.65mm (.32 ACP) caliber semi-automatic pistol built for the Yugoslav police and Yugo Military officers. The Zastava M70 was loosely based off of the M57 by the same firm, but downsized to function with the smaller and less powerful cartridges. The Model 70 features a matte or military blue finish, a 3.7" inch barrel, a left side-mounted thumb safety, checkered black plastic grips, fixed sights, and a 8-round detachable single-stack magazine. The Model 70 has enjoyed a long service life, with production starting in 1970 and continuing even today. This particular example is serial number 241042 and was manufactured in the early 1990's. It is all-original and in very good condition, with the original blue finish rating 94 to 95%. As you can see from the pictures, most of the finish wear is on the high edges from holster carry/storage, with some additional minor wear on the rear grip strap. The bore in this Zastava is excellent, nice and bright with no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible. The original factory grips are in great shape overall, with no cracks, chips, or repairs. Both grip panels only show a light wear to the checkered panels and some minor handling marks, and both sides are nice and tight to the gun. All of the controls on this Model 70 are in perfect working order and the action goes into battery with authority. This Yugo pistol should function just as well today as when it left the factory. This M70 comes complete with an original Yugo Military/Police holster and 1 original 8-rd magazine. If you have been looking for one of these Eastern-bloc pistols for your collection this example would be an excellent choice. Often when we encounter these pistols they are in much rougher condition than this clean piece.
