This is the Classic Civil War Style and has the Desirable 1863 production Date on the Lockplate as well as a Crisp Springfield Stamp with U.S. Eagle. Not encountered as often as the Type II with Lock Date Marking of either 1864 or 1865. This Civil War Musket is 56" Long and includes the Ramrod. Total Weight is 9#. Full Length Barrel is 40" and has Original Sights. Metal Finish is mottled brown & gray. Mechanically Functions Fine and Tight. Stock has Original Finish and shows some minor handling marks.
