Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical and productive fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars. This specimen appears to be a pistol that has been made to resemble the 1914 Navy Luger as they are rather rare and desirable, and therefore expensive, fetching up to twice the price for a similarly conditioned specimen. Conversion is very well-performed and parts have been numbered to match. There is a subtle seam just behind the swollen part of the muzzle on the barrel. The left side of the frame is marked “GERMANY”. The top of the toggle is marked “DWM”. The top of the frame is marked “1918”. The right side of the frame has several German proof marks. The overall condition is fine. The blue finish is 98%. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is clean and well-rifled. The grips are in great shape. The action on this pistol is excellent. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 6 inches. Caliber: .30 Luger (7.65x21mm Parabellum) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING.
