Description:
This is a used Colt 1911 Commemorative Chateau Thierry Campaign pistol chambered in .45 ACP. This is an excellent example of one of the Colt Commemorative M1911 pistols as issued between 1960 and 1970. It features a 5-inch barrel, one 7-round magazine, fixed sights, high gloss blued finish, and wood grips. The right side of the slide has a large gold flashed, roll engraved banner which reads, "1917 WORLD WAR I COMMEMORATIVE 1967". It is fitted with a set of walnut grips, each fitted with a large bronze medallion. The left grip has the spread wing American Eagle, with "1917-1918" at the top and "WORLD WAR" below, with a smaller rectangular medallion underneath which reads "Chateau Thierry". There is a gold flashed Rampant Colt at the rear of slide. The right grip also has a bronze medallion with a soldier at "Port-Arms" position depicted in the middle, with the names of 13 of the countries involved in WWI. Overall, this item is in very good condition with minimal handling marks. It will be a very good choice for collectors.
