Description:
This is one of H&K’s more unique pistols. The front of the grip operates as a safety and it cocks the striker for firing. This was a unique operating system for the time. The P7 was sold to police departments and commercially. Brought into the United States through H&K’s Chantilly, Virginia outlet, it comes with an H&K, P7-marked box. The gun is in excellent condition. This P7 was sent to a company named Robar which applied a then proprietary and unique finish labeled NP3. Today, this is similar to having your firearm coated in nickel boron. NP3 is a very strong, rust resistant finish. The process was very expensive at that time. This can be gauged by the fact that only one of the two magazines went through the process. The other retains its original blue finish. The P7’s original sights have been replaced with newer Tru-Dot night sights. The original grips (which are stored in the box) have been replaced with a beautiful pair of H&K wood grips. The bore is bright and shows little wear. It uses polygonal rifling like early Glock pistols and the Makarov pistol. Chambered for the classic 9mm Luger, the pistol comes with two, 8-round magazines. Also included in the box is a cleaning brush and a cleaning rod. These pistols were rather popular in the day and have since then become quite collectible. If you collect H&K pistols, you will not want to wait too long to add a P7 to your collection.
