This is certainly one of the nicest MAS Mle.1936 rifles we have had in quite some time. Given the "FH" prefix, this rifle was built post WW2 in 1954, and it remains in 100% original and un-modified condition. While it is import marked in very small letters on the left side of the receiver, it has NOT been French Arsenal rebuilt or rechambered in another caliber by the importer. The original parkerized finish is beautiful and nearly flawless, and the bore is bright and clean without any visible pitting or imperfections. All of the factory stampings and inspection marks on the metal parts are crisp and clean, and the bolt is the original part that is serial numbered to the rifle. The original stock set is also in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents. All of the original stock hardware is intact and in excellent condition as well, and the original spike-type bayonet is in-place and in perfect condition. This MAS 36 comes complete with an original issue rubber slip-on pad dated 1962 and an original French Military leather sling. All of the controls on this bolt-action repeater are in perfect working order, and the bolt works smoothly and locks into battery perfectly. This MAS 36 should function just as well today as the day it left the factory. If you have been looking for an exceptional MAS 36 for your collection this 1954 production example would be an excellent choice. It would be nearly impossible to upgrade from this rifle.
