FINE HARPERS FERRY U.S. MODEL 1841 MISSISSIPPI RIFLE DATED 1847. All original early and matching Mexican War dated Harpers Ferry Mississippi Rifle with no later alterations. Original .54 caliber rifled 33” barrel with Harpers Ferry proofs and with all correct U.S. Ordnance Inspector’s stamps. Original front and rear sights. Lock stamped “HARPERS/FERRY/1847” and “EAGLE/US”. Barrel tang dated “1847”. Original stock and brass patchbox and mounts. Faint cartouche outline visible on the side panel. Fine untouched original condition with crisp dark grey patina on metal and stock with light wear. Lock in perfect working order and excellent bore with sharp rifling. Very hard to find extra nice example.
