Description:
Westley Richards Droplock 12 gauge SxS shotgun. The Westley Richards droplocks are considered among the very best shotguns ever made. There were several style changes and this gun has all of the best changes…scalloped receiver and hinged floor plate. I believe that this gun was built as a “Pigeon” gun as it has 30” barrels with a hand cut solid rib that tapers from 12mm (1/2”) to 7.25mm (9/32”) at the muzzle and it has front and mid factory installed ivory beads. The bores are .735 diameter with .040” nominal wall thicknesses and choke of .012” (IC) and .045” (XF). Chambered for 2 ¾” shells and proved at 1 ¼. The finely engraved receiver retains over 80% original case colors. It is fitted with the “patent one trigger” and automatic ejectors. A very solid gun mechanically, completely “on face” and no indications of hard use. The straight grip stock is finelycheckered matching the splinter forearm with Deeley release. The length of pull is 14”over the 1”leather faced pad and it has 1 ½”DAC and 2”DAH with 1/8”cast favoring a right hand shooter. The gun comes with the original makers leather luggage case with all accessories carrying the Westley Richards markings. The handle straps and the outside straps guides are in need of repair. The gun weight 7 lbs. 6 oz. and balances nicely between the hands.
