Description:
Colt New Line Revolver in .38 Colt. This is the same caliber as the 1877 Lightning and the later Model 1889, 92, 94, 95 Double Action Colt Revolvers. Serial number is in the 7,000 range and was made in 1878. Nice markings including a great etched panel on the left side of the barrel that collectors pay the big bucks for on the 1877 Lightning, 1878 DA, and 1873 SAA Frontier Six Shooter Models. This one still has about 80% original nickel remaining with some traces of original fire blue on the screws and back of hammer. Fine rosewood grips still have 95% original varnish with no chips, or cracks. Decent mechanics and an average bore. Nice example .
