This is a difficult variation to obtain in the Colt Single Action series, not to many of these are found these days, This Colt SAA started its life as a Civilian gun and was sold to the U.S. Government to be inspected then issued to troops. This Single Action comes with a John Kopec Letter of Authenticity and documenting this gun. This example has somewhat of an usunusal and neat story behind it, Kopec goes into detail in the letter, (I have provided photos of the full letter to be able to read what he states). The factory letter is included in the sale also. The gun itself exhibits a dark patina finish with light pitting throughout. Mechanically the revolver functions very well. There is a faint cartouche on the grip. These are normally found in this condition these days and is absolutely genuine and a very difficult to obtain variation.
