Description:
This Springfield Armory Model U.S. 1898 is a right hand bolt action rifle in .30-40 Krag Cal. It has a 22 inch barrel with a raised front blade sight and an adjustable folding two position notch middle sight. The stock is a smooth walnut straight grip butt and smooth two piece walnut forearm with finger grooves. It has a right side loading box magazine. There is a U stamped on the left side barrel band. The buttstock on this rifle was cracked off and it has been repaired. The barrel rifling is in very good condition. Manufactured in 1898.
