Payment Types Accepted: Check, MO, Wire Transfer Description: This is a U.S. Model 1817 Musket made by H. Deringer and is a 54 caliber 36” barrel with 7 grooves. The lock and tang are dated 1842 and the conversion was done about that period. It has very good markings and the mechanical function is very good. The bore is good plus to very good with strong rifling and a bright bore. It is frosted with a few small spots of corrosion. The barrel is brown and the wood is good to about very good with some bruising, dings and chips. Many of the converted muskets were used in the Mexican American War and the early Civil War. This is a solid rifle and could make a great shooter with proper loads. I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE?
