Description:
General Specs: Smith & Wesson, Year 1880, .320 S&W, 4lbs
Serial Number: 410

Own a rare piece of history with this Smith & Wesson 320 Revolving Rifle, sn410 made in 1880.  This gun is all original parts and finishes and is in remarkable condition with about 70% blue on the frame and barrel turning brown, excellent screws, grips and forend intact without damage, bore  very clean and shiny with light pitting and very distinct and strong rifling.  The Model 320 was manufactured between 1879 and 1887 there were only 977 produced in total, making this the rarest of all Smith and Wesson revolvers.  Only 224 were made with the 20” barrel. The 320 is a break top action. Rear sight is a two-position flip sight with a brass blade front sight. Forend marbled red and black gutta percha in very excellent condition. The grips are red and black gutta percha grips with Smith & Wesson logo also in very good to excellent condition.  As you can see from the photos the buttstock assembly is missing and the price reflects the condition and rarity of the gun.  There have been a few buttstocks that have come up for sale in the past so it is possible you could make this gun whole and double its value with such a find.  This is a very rare opportunity to own a gun of the Old West in surprisingly good condition.  Very much and investment grade, highly collectible example of cool old Smith and Wesson.  Thanks for looking!
