Description:

Featured is a rare 'As New' Browning Superposed Broadway Trap from the FN Custom Shop manufactured in 1962 (serial number xxxxS2).  The Broadway Trap was introduced in mid-1961 and features the extra large ventilated 5/8" ventilated rib.  This gun features 30" barrels whch are choked and marked Imod and Full also has a Bradley white front bead and a silver mid bead.  Barrels are marked 'Favrique Nationale Herstal' on the left side.  Barrel Bluing is as new.

The Browning Superposed action has custom engraved ornamental sideplates with 75+% coverage of fine, well cut, medium, open, shaded scroll within borders surronding scenes of game birds in flight, a pair of quail on left, pheasants on right, and a duck taking wing on the bottom of the action.  This gun is signed by 'J. Lodewyc'  (master engraver Jacquez Lodewyc) under the quail scene.  A coin finish finely checkered single selective trigger is contained in a trigger guard with the engraving pattern matching the ornamental sideplates.

The wood is well figured Euopean walnut with the buttstock featuring the long tang flat knob grip (LTFK) and measures 14 1/4" to the end of the original open sided Browning white line rubber pad. The stock has a DAC of 1 3/8" and a DAH of 1 7/16".  The stock  features  Modified point tpattern checkering and very tasteful carved beaded borders and the typical FN fluted drop points located behind the sideplates.  The checkering and beaded border theme is continued on the matching beavertail type forend.

Other:
The Broadway Trap weighs approximately 7 lbs 15 oz. and includes a tan Browning Hartman cased lined with typical faux fur which is lightly soiled.  The gun comes with the instruction book.   This gun was previously owned by the late reknowned Browning expert and collector Rod Fuller and appears to be unfire since proof.  The gun has minmal light handling marks and is mechanically crisp and tight.
For the Browning Collector or today's trap shooter, this an opportunity to own an extraodinary shotgun from the prime period of Browning and Belgium gun making.
