CIVIL WAR TOWER PATTERN 1853 PERCUSSION RIFLE MUSKET BY BARNETT/LONDON & BAYONET WITH ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA HISTORY. 39” rifled .577 cal. barrel with British export commercial proofs at breech. Original long-range rear sight. Lock stamped ‘BARNETT/LONDON”. All original and complete in very good to fine condition. Top of butt plate tang stamped “22/F”. Stock with the original finish. Old minor hairline at the side panel. Old tag states “MUSKET LEFT AT THE CONVALESCENT HOSPITAL WHICH WAS IN A HOUSE LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF LITTLE FALLS RD. & GLEBE RD IN ARLINGTON, VA. HOUSE NOTED IN ARLINGTON HERITAGE BY TEMPLEMAN”. Original dark case colors on lock plate and original brown mixed with patina on barrel. Lock in perfect working order. Very good bore with good rifling. From an old Virginia collection. Bayonet also in nice condition with original polish on blade. Absolutely authentic.
