Description:
This is a 1972 production Ruger "Old Model" Blackhawk revolver in .30 Carbine complete with a period Bushnell Magnum Phantom 1.3X scope. This Ruger Blackhawk is in good all-original condition and while it is used it has been well cared for. This gun has never been back to the factory for the transfer bar modification and is exactly how it left the factory except for the scope mounted in place of the rear sight. This Blackhawk features a gloss-blue factory finish, a 7.5" inch barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, a right-side mounted loading gate and ejector rod, and smooth American Walnut grips with silver and black Ruger medallions. The finish on this gun rates 92 to 94% with deductions coming from some small prior rust spots on the barrel and loading gate. Oustide of those small spots the rest of the factory finish is bright and beautiful, showing little to no actual mechanical wear. The bores in both the barrel and cylinder are in excellent condition. The barrel still shows sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and there is no pitting or visible imperfections whatsoever. The six chambers in the cylinder are equally as clean. The original Walnut grips are in excellent condition on this revolver. Both grip panels are free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and both sides are nice and tight to the frame with no wiggle. All of the controls on this Ruger are in perfect working order, and the action is perfectly "in time" whether it is worked fast or slow. The trigger on this Blackhawk is excellent, breaking with a light pull with no grit or slop. As mentioned before, this 3-screw Blackhawk comes with a vintage Bushnell Magnum Phantom pistol scope already mounted on it. This scope mounts in place of the adjustable rear sight on this Ruger (the original rear sight is no longer with the gun). The scope has clear optics and all of the adjustments seem to be in working order. If you have been looking for a .30 Carbine Ruger Blackhawk for your collection as a shooter and investment this 1972 model would be a great choice.
