Starr Civil War .44 caliber revolver. Converted to cartridge. Bore is a smooth bore. May have been done due to the original percussion rifling not being compatible with the cartridge shells. Action works fine. Grips are good plus to very good. Gun has had some touch up blue on barrel. These Post Civil Ware cartridge conversions have become a popular subset of collection and a Starr is certainly one of the most difficult maker to find.
