Here is a very rare find indeed! This is a limited edition Smith and Wesson Model 68-2 revolver that was built as a commemorative for the "California Highway Patrol". Comes with a very cool factory laser engraved "CHP" presentation hard case and the original Smith & Wesson box. Many people do not know of the existence of the Model 68 by S&W but it is in fact an original model that was built for the California Highway Patrol and there were only about 6,000 produced total, the numbers on this limited edition model were much lower. These were basically Model 66's chambered in .38 Special. They even used the same frames that were restamped by S&W from the factory. This beauty is in excellent condition with an excellent looking bore that has crisp sharp rifling. Appears to be unfired apart from the factory test firing before shipment. The barrel is 6 inches. 6-shot capacity. Adjustable rear sights. This model also comes with a nice set of factory S&W logo wood grips with some very nice grain. The left side of this gun is stamped in three separate places commemorating the California Highway Patrol and signifying this as a Limited Edition firearm. Also includes a CHP belt buckle.
