Spectacular all original Fabrique Nationale Model 1949 SAFN. This Venezuelan Contract FN-49 Is non Import marked and in un-issued condition. The FN49 was produced for 8 primary contracts. This particular rifle was part of the first contract of 8,003 rifles purchased by Venezuela in 1949. The Venezuelan version of the FN49 was the only variant produced with a flashhider and chambered in the classic 7X57 Mauser cartridge. The FN-49 has become highly collectible, with the Venezuelan being the most desirable among collectors due to the accuracy of the 7x57mm round for which they were chambered and the low production of that contract. This particular rifle shows almost zero wear and appears to be un-issued. The military finish would rate at 99%, with cosmoline still present in the internals. The stock is also in outstanding condition with a sharp cartouche and proof. If you have been looking for a collector grade FN-49 for an investment, this one would be hard to improve on. Includes an original sling.
