Description:
This vintage High Standard is 100% original and in beautiful condition.  It is a factory high-gloss "Trophy" blue Model 106 Military Supermatic Trophy .22 LR pistol made sometime between 1967 and 1968, complete with the original "red bottom" factory magazine.  The Model 106 Military Supermatic Trophy was offered between 1965 and 1968 and was offered with either a 5.5" bull barrel or 7.25" fluted push-button quick-release barrel (both barrels were also drilled and tapped on the underside for barrel weights).  It was High Standard's top-of-the-line .22 Long Rifle target pistol and featured a factory blue or "Trophy" high-gloss blue finish with gold-filled lettering, a gold or case-colored mag release, a 1911-style grip with stippled front and rear grip straps, an adjustable trigger stop, an adjustable trigger pull weight, a bridge-style adjustable rear target sight, checkered American Walnut grips, and a factory gold finish on the trigger and safety.  This model quickly earned a reputation for being extremely well-made and accurate, and was a favorite of competitive shooters all over the country.  This particular example is serial number 1831343 and appears to have spent the vast majority of it's life in storage.  The original factory gloss blue finish is in spectacular shape, rating 98% plus.  There is no visible finish wear on the gun, only a few tiny handling marks.  The factory case-colored magazine release rates 99% like-new, as do the gold-finished trigger and safety.  The bore in the 5.5" inch bull barrel is in mint condition, mirror-bright with perfect, sharp rifling.  There are no visible imperfections in the bore.  The original checkered American Walnut grips are in excellent condition, consistent with the rest of the gun and free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear.  The action on this pistol is slick and precise, with a perfect slide to frame fit.  All of the controls on this High Standard are in perfect working order, including the adjustable rear sight and trigger.  The internals of this Supermatic Trophy are just as pristine as the exterior.  Judging by the looks of this pistol on the inside and out, we would guess that it has had less than a box of ammo fired thru it since new.  This High Standard should function just as perfectly today as the day it left the factory.  It comes with one original 10-round "red bottom" factory magazine in perfect working order.  If you have been looking for a classy and extremely accurate vintage .22 target pistol for your collection this High Standard would be an excellent choice.  C&R Eligible
