Description:
Savage's Model 99 was one of the first hammerless rifles; it was also one of the first to use a rotary type magazine feeding design, which enabled the use of pointed, more accurate bullets. Other features of this rifle included a cocking indicator on the top of the receiver, and a round indicator on the left side of the receiver to show the remaining rounds. A unique feature of the takedown models is that it can be easily disassembled for compact transport. This model is in good overall condition, with most of the bluing still present. The stock and forend have marks and stains throughout the wood. The bore has some corrosion, but rifling is still present. A unique gun and definitely a worthwhile addition to your collection.
