1970 Vintage Merkel Suhl Model 211E combination gun with a extra set of factory 12 Ga. barrels, a Zeiss scope with claw mounts, and a luggage case. This set is a pre-G.S.I. import produced in East Germany, and imported by William, Larkin, & Moore of Scottsdale, AZ. This Merkel features a 25.5" inch combination barrel set with a 3" chamber 12 gauge shotgun barrel over a 7X65R caliber rifle barrel. The 7X65R cartridge is a rimmed version of the 7X64 Brenneke. This is an excellent cartridge that is ballistically identical to the potent .280 Remington. The Combination barrels are fitted with a West German Zeiss Diatal-D 6X42 Scope that is attached with factory claw mounts. The Zeiss scope has a German #1 type reticle, is crystal clear, and mounts extremely solid to the gun. The second set of barrels are 28" inches long and 12 gauge, with 3" chambers choked full over modified. This is a beautiful rig that features hand-engraved scenes of red stag and roe deer on the left side of the receiver, and ducks on the right. The Continental style stock is made of dark European Walnut and features a Germanic cheekpiece, and point pattern checkering. Includes the original leather attache case and snap caps. A very versatile and classy outfit that would be a great addition to any collection.
