Description:
If you have been looking for an exceptional "collector grade" Browning Grade II BAR Magnum here it is.  This beautiful Browning Grade II BAR was made in the FN factory in Belgium in 1968, and remains in excellent all-original condition.  The Belgian-made Grade II BAR Magnum was offered from 1967 to 1974.  This 2nd year production Grade II BAR features a gloss blue factory finish on all of the metal parts, an engraved receiver that is factory drilled and tapped for optics, a gas-operated rotary bolt semi-automatic action, a 24" inch barrel with a folding rear sight and a hooded front sight, a hinged floorplate with a detachable 3-round box magazine, and a gloss-finished and checkered Walnut stock set with a factory installed recoil pad and sling swivel studs.  The factory blue finish on this rifle is beautiful and clean, rating 99%.  To come up with the 1% deduction you have to look extremely close to find any justification.  It could pass as having left the factory last week rather than 51 years ago.  You will notice in the picture of the top of the receiver that there is a thin piece of paper between the 1-piece Redfield base and receiver, this was placed there to protect the rifle's finish.  The bore is minty and mirror-bright with no visible imperfections.  The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves.  The original stock set is just as pristine as the metal parts are.  The forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks, chips, scratches, or repairs.  There are only a few tiny little handling marks in the stock set only visible under extremely close inspection.  The checkered panels are clean and crisp, the factory sling swivel studs are in excellent condition, and the Browning-branded factory recoil pad is perfectly fit to the stock and tight to the wood.  This Browning BAR is in perfect working order with a smooth and slick action and crisp controls.  We have no doubt that it would shoot just as reliably and accurately today as the day it left the factory.  All this rifle needs to be complete is a worthy scope and rings.  This Belgian Browning Grade II BAR Magnum rifle has to be one of the nicest examples of it's type in existence.

Please note: We also have a 1971 Grade II BAR Magnum identical to this in condition but chambered in .300 Win. Mag. for $1295 that will be added shortly.
