Description:
These matched cased single-shot derringers, chambered in .22 Short, are new-in-the-box and have consecutive serial numbers. The finish on the metal and wood of both derringers are all original and are in original new condition – no blemishes, marrs, stains, etc. anywhere the guns. Accessories include the original presentation box (see photos), original warranty card, and original owner’s manual.
Though the finish on the barrel of each gun looks like black bluing, S.P. Fjestad’s Blue Book of Gun Values, 40th Anniversary Edition, page 643, says the finish of these guns is black chrome. The wood grips are walnut.
According to ProofHouse (://proofhouse/colt/), the cased Lord Deringers were manufacture between 1970 and 1973 and had either a DER or DER suffix. These Lord Deringers have the DER suffix. Total production with the DER suffix was 48,201
NOTE: My usage of the term “gold-plated” to describe the metal finish on the frame of these two derringers reflects the verbiage used in Fjestad’s Blue Book of Gun Values, 40th Anniversary Edition. In my opinion, the finish is not “gold-plated”, but is “gold-colored”. Regardless, the finish on both guns is factory original.
