Description:
1836 drum type conversion which uses original flintlock hammer with iron insert to strike cap. Lock threaded holes are lead filled.
Very rare type of early Civil War conversion and no doubt a Confederate piece. Smooth gray iron with dark lock. Action works. Stock has no cracks. A rare piece converted by means of this method.
