Colt U.S. Mdl. 1917, Cal. .45 acp, Ser. 200425. Mfg. 1918. Phenomenal condition and 101 years old. The gun retains about 99+% of the original factory finish. The very little finish loss there is, is from some very slight sharp edge silvering and a very small area of tiny pricks on the right side just below the hammer. The rest of the gun is pristine. The grip straps have sign no of graying. The barrel is marked United States Property. The left side has the Colt Rampant Horse, JMG the factory inspector's and a 3 at the trigger guard. The butt is stamped, U.S Property Model 1917 Serial No.56799. The walnut grips are are flawless while retaining about 98% of the original lacquer. The grip screw is undamaged. The cylinder face, force cone and recoil shield show little use. The bore, like the rest of the gun is pristine, mirror bright with scalpel sharp rifling, not trace of frost. This Cabinet Queen would easily be a center piece for the critical collector, a fine investment and fun at the firing line.
