Description:
This is one of the very first post 64 Model 70's made as serial number indicates 1965 manufacture. The caliber is the regular .458 Winchester Magnum shooting 500 grns at around 2100 fps
Rifle is in excellent condition and was only taken to Africa twice for use on Elephant and then locked up in the safe and never used again. (original owner was certified as a memeber of the Kerr & Downey 100 pounder club as he shot 2 100 lbs elephants with this gun!!)
Metal and wood are in very good condition with some light wear showing on the receiver, while the rifle feeds and functions perfectly and is accurate.
It has a modified wide V express sight and comes with a one piece Leupold scope mount.
Also available if interested are a set of dies including crimp die and about 30 once used pieces of brass.
This is a great gun as a stand alone big game stopper, or to have it converted to the more powerful 458 Lott!
