Description:
Manufactured in Danzig (modern day Gdansk) the model 88 was the precursor to the mauser rifle that woul dtake the world by storm just a few years later. From what I can tell this one has been converted from its original en-bloc magazine to a more conventional stripper clip feed. Based upon what I can tell it is in the 8mm Mauser cartridge. This example is in good condition with some noted handling and wear marks.
