This Colt was produced in early 1914. The pistol's serial number is 68069. This Colt is all correct as issued in 1914. The slide does not have the 1913 patent date which is correct for early 1914 pistols. The barrel has the correct H P on the top of the barrel by the breech opening. The barrel is in very fine condition with sharp lands with no pitting. It has the correct magazine for this pistol. The hammer is the correct style for this pistol. The pistol is tight with no play. The pistol shows very little shooting or wear. The original grips show service use and wear. This pistol was stored in a old holster which contributed to the bluing loss on the slide. There is no rust or pitting on the frame or slide. This is a original honest early Colt military issued 1911. It has not been messed with or been through a rebuild program. These early military Colts are very difficult to find in original condition today. This pistol should really appeal to the military collector and Colt collector due to the original condition.
