Description:
SOLD Pending Funds / Springfield Armory M1-C Sniper Rifle, serial # 3373275, cal. 30-06, with a 24" barrel and a good bore, marked on right side "SA 1-52". Throat gauges 4.0 and muzzle gauges 2.0. The rifle retains about 80%+ parkerized finish thinning in areas. The following parts are numbered, receiver is numbered A 23 B / D 28291 35, OP Rod D35382 9 SA cut, Type 5 Follower, Type 2 Op Rod Catch, Type 5 Bullet Guide, Bolt D 28287 - 19SA/A-9, Type 2 SA Follower Slide Assy, Trigger Housing D 6528290 - SA, safety SA-11, Hammer SA D5548008, Gas Cylinder Lock Screw marked NHC, Flush nut rear sight, windage knob is marked "DRC" & elevation knob marked "HN". The Mount and Base are correct and the Base is numbered 3451834 and the mount is numbered 3454169. This rifle is equipped with an "ALASKAN" scope (used on M1C's before the M82 scope) with serial number B 5709, it’s also marked "LYMAN GUN SIGHT CORP. MIDDLEFIELD CONN". The turret bases marked "ALL WEATHER" caps are unmarked. Fine crosshair reticle. The rifle is equipped with a cone type M2 Flash Hider that was manufactured by the HART Mfg. Co.. The wood stock has a DOD proof on the left side and a P proof on the pistol grip area, nice upper and forward handguards. The leather cheek pad is marked on right side "MRT over 8 51". Rifle comes with a Model 1907 leather sling that has a faint BOYT 42 stamp. This rifle also comes with CMP Certificate of Authenticity documenting this rifle and base, and a verification letter stating that serial # 3373275 is in correct range for M1C rifle. This rifle was likely arsenal rebuilt for the Korean War that included replacing the stock, changing the barrel and remounting the mount. Also included is a cleaning kit, plastic oil & grease container in the buttstock. The overall condition as described and photographed is very good – very good plus. Inv.: # 2-1746
