A fine and completely untouched pair of .48 caliber French dueling pistols from the 1850's period, these 9 inch octagon barrel percussion pistols are in excellent original condition. They are in perfect working order and could be fired today. The fitted case, made of beautiful burl walnut, still has its original lining and most of its original accessories and even its brass, locking key. Only the powder flask is missing from its rectangular compartment. Seldom do we see a set that has not had some restoration to either the guns or the case. The locks are marked with the makers name, "AURY A, ST. ETIENNE", and the rear of the barrels are numbered "1" and "2". The bores are rifled and in good condition.
