Description: SOLD...Very nice antique 1894 Winchester. A nice, clean and honest 94 Winchester. Caliber is ye ole 30-30. Has the standard 26" octagon barrel. S/N 54532 and made in 1896 according to Madis.. The bore is near excellent with strong like new deep rifling and just light frosting.. NO pitting. Just not minty or mirror bright but strong as new.... It shoots like new.. NO rings or bulges. Mechanics are excellent. It feeds, fires and ejects perfectly like new. The barrel has about 30% or so scattered blue. Mag tube has about 30% also in the protected area under the barrel. The receiver has traces of blue in the concave protected areas at the front and rear.. The lower tang has some blue as does the lever hinge block. NO pitting on the gun at all. It has the special order and rare three leaf Winchester Express rear sight. All three blades are perfect with no chips and not frozen in place. The front sight is a little later Marbles standard number 6 with the ivory bead. This sight set up has an outstanding sight picture when sighted down the barrel. Markings are excellent. Still has the early heart shape or “widows peak” hammer knurling. Both hammer notches are perfect and positive of course.. The screw heads are very good for the most part. A couple show some minor turning but nothing burred up from tinkering. The wood is really nice. The forearm fits mostly full and proud to the metal. NO splits or cracks and shows just some VERY MINOR honest use scratches.. Never sanded on or messed with.. The butt stock fits even or slightly proud to the metal with a small grain split on both sides less than an inch long right below the upper tang behind the receiver as you can see in the photos. They are still tight and solid. Shows a few dings and scratches from normal honest use but nothing abused at all... Never sanded on or messed with. Wood fits tight and full at the butt plate also and no wear or chips at the toe. The butt plate does show some fading case colors.. This is a very nice 94 and much better than the gray brown ones in the lower price range of course.. This is a straight up honest, no issues 94 at a good price !!!! $50 insured shipping.
