Description:
For your consideration is an excellent condition and all matching 1944 production “bnz 4” coded Steyr Daimler Puch manufactured Karabiner 98 kurz (K98k) rifle. Rifle is superb in every regard – finish rates at about 95% with most of the loss on the high points & butt plate, which also shows some common patina. The stock shows signs of use but not abuse with minor chips, scuffs & scrapes but is in overall excellent condition with no major cracks or chips and, most importantly, has not been sanded or duffle cut. Bore is bright & shiny with strong rifling & the action is smooth & crisp. Cleaning rod is intact & is in like condition to the rifle. This rifle was almost certainly assembled at the Mauthausen-Gusen camp complex, which was used extensively by Steyr for wartime production. Rifle includes an unmarked sling as well as 2 x K98k pouches – different RB Nr. but they pair very well together. True veteran bring-back with no import marks. K98k rifles in this condition are becoming increasingly difficult to find & this rifle is from my personal collection. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or for additional pictures.
