Nickel & Pearl Antique S&W Circa 1884
Here we present a Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action Revolver, made circa 1884 in Springfield, Massachusetts. This would have been a handsome sidearm at the end of the 19th Century. Not everyone was carrying large revolvers such as the Colt Single Action Army! This revolver combines a smaller .38 caliber cartridge with a smaller overall size that made this easy to carry and provided plenty of firepower to get out of most scrapes. This one comes in a really nice vintage leather holster with some simple hand-tooling.
The overall condition is very fine. The original nickel finish is about 98%, while the blue, and case colors are nearly complete. The markings are clear. The mother of pearl grips are in fine shape. The bore is in good shape with strong rifling. The action is excellent. The holster remains in very good condition. This is a 19th Century Smith & Wesson revolver with refined tastes!
