Description:
This is a 1929 first year vintage 38 super . Its all correct and matching, the slide is numbered correctly to the frame.The barrel is the correct un marked one as it should be and has a minty bore. The grips are the original 28 rows between the screw holes and are in perfect condition. The magazine is the original correct one with the correct marking on the bottom in high condition. This piece has the most beautiful Factory finish on it ,pretty blue and a velvet look. The special custom sights are King sights ,not stamped King because King didnt sell the sights with their name on them if they didnt put them on themselves. Colt obviously put these sights on this gun at the factory and put a new finish on it at the time of the sight change. The small stamped K on the right trigger guard next to the # 60 indicates some work was done at the factory. Its a rare variation of a splendid looking super 38. I would rate it at 99% . It comes with two factory letters, have no idea why? I bot it this way. Its mechanically perfect and is a great example of the kind of work the Colt craftsmen back in 1929 could do!! A great addition to your 38 super collection. Enjoy it.
