Description:
This is a colt super 38 , It was made in the first year 1929 SER# 5687 of production. The gun is as it was shipped from the factory, original unmarked barrel and it has a minty bore. The slide is correctly numbered to the frame. The grips are correct with 28 rows between the screws. Its mechanically perfect and is very tight. This example is fitted with King sights at the factory . probably at a latter date as the letter K is stamped near the inspectors stamp 60 on the right side of the trigger guard signifying work done at the Colt Factory. Those records are long gone but its known that is one of the symbols they used to identify work done. King only marked their name on sights they instaled on guns. therefore these sights are not marked King. The new finish from the Factory is the finest example of their craftsmenship from the 1920S. Its a beautifull soft looking beautiful blue finish that only Colt could have done . One of the nicest examples that i've seen.,The magazine is correct and in very fine condition. Its a rare example of a super with King sights installed and a great addition to your collection .I would rate this piece at 98/ 99% Call with any Questions , Tom 612 859 5673 (
