Description:
This gun has apparently been cut down from a regular musket. Barrel measures 24 inches. Wood looks right for a carbine except it has the slot for the cleaning rod on the front of the forearm. Excellent cartouche and nice rich tone to the wood. Just a few handling mars. 1884 type Springfield sight. The trapdoor is also marked 1884. Barrel retains about 90% blue. Good traces of case hardening on the breech block. Excellent functioning action. Should make a fine little shooter.
