Description:
Clean, handsome take-down rifle with British proofs. 24" barrel has a beautiful, crisp, clean, shiny bore and chamber. Action interior is also clean and free of surprises. Fine factory blue/black finish is in remarkably fine shape, with no signs of corrosion, pits, sanding or other indiscretions. With only minor scattered handling marks, wood is in similarly nice shape, satisfyingly solid, with excellent varnish and crisp checkering. Rear barrel sight has one fixed standing, and one folding leaf. Two sets of British proofs displayed: Pre-1925, and the later post-1955 London Nitro Proofs. No importer markings visible. Weighs 6#14oz, 14-1/2" pull from two stage trigger over the steel trap butt plate. Stock cavity under the trap is empty. Included are a full 10-rd box of vintage Kynoch ammo, and partial (4 loaded, 4 once fired) box with MS Mod. 1910 labeling. Test fired several rounds with this ammo, and the rifle performed flawlessly. One can only imagine how many Red Stag this has harvested!
