Description:
This is an exceptional all-original and matching Webley & Scott Ltd. Mark IV revolver in .38/200 caliber made during World War 2 in 1943.  During WW2 the British Army was facing a large shortage of weapons to arm their rapidly growing forces, both in handguns and long guns.  While the Enfield No.2 Mk.1 was the standard revolver for the British Military they were in short supply, which caused the British Military to officially adopt the Webley Mark IV revolver to supplement their stocks.  The Webley Mark IV went on to serve the British forces well as a reliable weapon in combat.  While it was sometimes derided for it's lack of "knock down power" in the .38/200 cartridge, that negative was offset by it's good accuracy, ease of use, and easy maintenance.  This particular example was made in 1943, is NOT import marked, and remains in excellent condition inside and out.  The original "military finish" blue rates 97%, with only minor handling marks and some tiny spots of finish marring.  The bore in the 5" inch barrel is like-new and pristine, with nice sharp rifling throughout.  The 6 cylinder bores are equally as clean.  The original black checkered plastic grips are in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings.  Both sides are are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the grip frame.  All of the controls on this Webley are in perfect working order, and the action is perfectly "in time".  This Webley Mark IV should function just like the day it left the factory 76 years ago.  If you have been looking for an investment grade Webley Mark IV for your colelction here is your chance to get a superb example.
